About

Bonsai Guitars started with a simple frustration: the guitar you love is always in the other room.

We're based in Maple, Ontario, and we make the Ventura, a full-playing guitar in a 27.5-inch body. Standard E tuning, familiar chords, genuine tone. It lives on your couch, rides in your car, and fits in an airplane overhead bin. The idea isn't to replace your full-size guitar. It's to give you more time with a guitar, period.

At guitar shows, the same thing happens over and over: a player picks up the Ventura, strums a chord, and grins. Rylee S., who picked hers up at a guitar show, told us it was the first guitar small enough that she could finally play barre chords. Others tell us it’s become the guitar they reach for every day, the one that lives within arm’s reach.

Every Ventura ships as a complete kit (gig bag, strap, tuner, picks), and pickup models add a built-in pickup and a USB-C cable. We use Aquila 153-C strings, made for short-scale instruments like the Ventura, and we stock replacements right here in the store.

We're a small shop. When you order from us, you're buying directly from the people who set up and stand behind every one of these guitars.

Pick it up more. Play more.
